Under the supervision of the Head Cook, the Kitchen Helper’s main function is to support the efficient daily operations of the kitchen.

Responsabilities:

• Assist with preparation of take-out orders and meals for co-op store.
• Act as dishwasher.
• Assist in providing a safe, clean and hygienic kitchen for the preparation and consumption of meals on a daily basis.
• Assist with the control of food inventory, kitchen supplies, ensure the proper disposal of garbage and all waste products.
• Maintain good communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, secure and healthy environment by following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Clean stations at the end of the shift as well as restaurant equipment (grills, ovens, freezers, coffee stations etc)
• Assist and support restaurant staff when necessary or to help out during peak hours.
• Assist with pick-up and storage of Cargo deliveries.
• Assist coworkers with meal deliveries and/or pick-ups
• Handle any other related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Able to communicate in French and in English, both verbally and written;
• Knowledge of Inuktitut an asset.
